Come aboard our boats and discover the wonders around Cannes
Naturally, when we talk about a sea trip near Cannes, we immediately think of Sainte-Marguerite island, its creeks and wild preserved landscapes. Get ready to spend an unforgettable day.
The Lerins Islands
Sainte-Marguerite is a haven of peace with an exceptional setting. The island is located less than a kilometer from Cannes and is therefore very easily accessible: about 15 minutes of navigation. The first mooring area is in front of the island’s charming village. You can have lunch at the restaurant “La Guérite”. You will be taken directly to the restaurant using their shuttle service. You will also be able to stroll in the sumptuous alleys of eucalyptus and pine trees, with their unique scents.
Continue your discovery by passing by the Batéguier pond and observe the numerous birds and the soothing scenery.
The Sainte Marguerite Fort
The Fort of Sainte Marguerite should also be part of the activities to see on the island. This impressive building, built by Richelieu, was a prison (it housed the Iron Mask) before becoming the Museum of the Sea.
The island of Saint-Honorat
The Lerins Islands are not only Sainte-Marguerite. You will be able to see it on board your boat: after the cape of the batéguier, you will see the island of Saint-Honorat. If you decide to go to lunch at the restaurant “La Tonnelle”, their shuttle will pick you up directly on board your boat.
After your lunch, you will have the possibility to go for a walk to discover the abbey of Lérins. This is a journey back in time, but also the discovery of a way of life apart. The monks still occupy the place.
Tradelière and Saint-Ferréol
Embark after this moment of total serenity and discover the two uninhabited islets (Tradelière and Saint-Ferréol) and the Îlot, a surprising rock.
From this place, you will have a unique view on the Bay of Cannes.
Going by boat is a different way to discover Cannes and its wonders
You can spend an afternoon at sea and relax in front of the Palais des Festivals, the Croisette, the Suquet and the old port. You will discover around the island’s wild creeks of a rare beauty, nicely highlighted with the blue water and the green vegetation. Watching a sunset here is unique!
Discovering the Jason Decaires Taylor Underwater Museum
You can also visit the Jason Decaires Taylor Underwater Museum. Put on your mask and snorkel and dive to discover the impressive faces that await you underwater between 3 and 5 meters deep. These 6 faces are those of Cannois taken on the spot by the sculptor. He chose an ecological concrete (neutral pH) and let nature do its work to complete his works. You will have to go a little further because the site is protected. But it is worth it!
